I voted in favor of in the IMCO committee.

However, it is disappointing that users will not be given a chance to use the “do not track” option in browsers as suggested.

It is a wasted opportunity to put a stop to annoying consent banners.

@marcel_kolaja So angry to hear about "do not track" browser option not being respected 😠 So until it happens, Consent-O-Matic browser extension will be extremely helpful in handling consent popups

@marcel_kolaja why was it nevertheless worth it to support this directive, rather than voting it down? Does it even bring any substantial advantages to Internet users in comparison to status quo?

@marcel_kolaja i don't see any consent banners on a website because my Browser blocks them. 😉
