NVIDIA still refuses open sourcing drivers - Red Hat has been developing open NOVA -driver for the Linux kernel

NVIDIA drivers on Linux here is a co-op scenario:

◉Userland: Vulkan / OpenGL handling (these drivers wished be opened)
◉Kernel side: framebuffer / computations (these are open now)

NVK (Vulkan) is also progressing (part of Mesa) - eventually replacing Nouveau (the original open solution for NVIDIA).

I'm giving the #KDE Plasma Desktop another go, as I'm seeing weird crashed in the latest Debian testing version of Gnome. Honestly, I love KDE, and I hope this will be the time I stick to it. Previously I've run away because of stability issues on my setup, and unfortunately I'm already seeing the occasional weird flickering/tearing when Konsole scrolls. I'm running #Debian Testing on an older i9-9900K with an RTX2070. Running the proprietary #Nvidia drivers version 535.216.03-2.

After a bit of troubleshooting, we managed to get Bluefin GDX running on Ampere ARM on the System76 booth at SCaLE 22x!!!!!!!!

Ui der Nvidia Hotfix Treiber 572.65 hat den Blackscreen Bug gefixt, der sich seit den Treibern für RTX 5000 in abgeschwächter Form auch auf meiner RTX 4090 materialisiert hat.

Ich habe den Hotfixtreiber installiert und meine 4090 hat sich ohne erzwungenen Neustart des PCs nach der Treiberinstallation zurückgemeldet.

Als nächstes sollten sie sich m.E. um den HDR Bug kümmern. Es gibt zwar einen Workaround, aber ein Workaround ist halt keine Ursachenlösung.
